The Bermuda Sloop Foundation held it's annual "Walk the Plank," event to help raise money for it's charitable efforts. The Bermuda Sloop Foundation has created a purpose-built sail training vessel which evokes the seagoing traditions of Bermuda while providing a safe, effective, and comfortable platform for Bermuda's youth. Follow-up opportunities for students include more advanced local and overseas voyages plus career pathways in maritime and other occupations. Their motto is:  "Changing Lives, One Voyage at a Time, Over Time."

More than $133,000 was raised for the Bermuda Sloop Foundation’s education and character development programme on board its training ship the Spirit of Bermuda. Pirates in full regalia seized their hostages and the public had to commit to payment of a ransom to have them saved or sunk.

Unfortunate hostages were plunged into the frigid waters of Albuoy’s Point.

Even though Thomas & Andrea raised enough money they decided to jump overboard as comic relief.
