Prior Notification Request for Passenger vessels trading to the Persian Gulf War Risk area

Following explosions at the Fujairah anchorage on 12th May 2019, the JWC updated the Listed Areas to reflect the perceived heightened war risk across the region. In order to avoid any coverage issues going forward, Shoreline respectfully request that their War Blue Card insureds seek Shoreline’s prior approval, before entering the Persian Gulf war risk area, as defined by the JWC, until further notice.

Following explosions at the Fujairah anchorage on 12th May 2019, the JWC updated the Listed Areas to reflect the perceived heightened war risk across the region. Further to which vessels trading to the Persian Gulf are now required to notify their war underwriters before entering the area. Shoreline and their supporting market underwriters have been and continue to follow the situation closely and are mindful of the many variables of risk when assessing further voyages in the region.

Given the recent extraordinary chain of events which continue to evolve in the Persian Gulf and surrounding areas, Shoreline considers that continued trading to this region during this period of heightened tension constitutes a material change to the risk contemplated by Shoreline and their supporting markets when providing their War Blue Card insurance.

In order to avoid any coverage issues going forward, Shoreline respectfully request that their War Blue Card insureds seek Shoreline’s prior approval, before entering the Persian Gulf war risk area, as defined by the JWC, until further notice.

It should also be noted that additional premiums may be triggered when trading within the Persian Gulf war risk area at this time.
